Containers come and go; data should not. Aeolus volumes and mounts keep databases, uploads, and config where you expect them after a restart.

Persistence basics

  • Named volumes โ€” attach durable storage to services that need it.
  • Bind mounts โ€” pin specific host paths when an ensemble requires them.
  • Restart-safe data โ€” bring an ensemble down and up without re-seeding the database by accident.

Operator tip

Declare mounts next to the service in the ensemble definition so the next person (or future you) can see what must survive a recreate.
